Faba Beans
Annual production averages about 7500 mt from around 3500 ha. About 2/3 of production is in beans ranging in size from 190 to 210 per 100 grams. There are no large broadbeans grown in Canada. Markets include the small "ethnic" North American sector for canning, packaging and splits, as well as regular exports to Middle East destinations and Japan. Low quality and surplus carryover is absorbed by the local feed industry.
